# Connect to Claude

> Add Aidan to Claude as a connector. Sign in once in your browser, with no API keys or terminal commands

## Overview

Add Aidan to Claude as a **custom connector** and Claude can work in your Aidan account from any chat: build and edit agents, run workflows, search conversations, send messages and calls, and pull reports.

You sign in on an Aidan page in your browser. Claude never sees your password. It gets a token that renews itself, and you can disconnect at any time.

This works in Claude on the web, the Claude desktop app, Claude on mobile (once it's added), and Claude Code.

> [!NOTE]
>
> You'll need your Aidan email and password. If you normally sign in with
> Google, use **Forgot password** on the Aidan sign-in page to set a password
> first.

## Add it to Claude (web and desktop)

**1. Open Connectors**

In Claude, go to **Settings → Connectors** and click **Add custom connector**.

**2. Enter the server URL**

Fill in:

| Field | Value |
| - | - |
| Name | `Aidan` |
| Remote MCP server URL | `https://api.callaidan.com/mcp` |

Leave **Advanced settings** empty. Claude registers itself automatically.
Click **Add**.

**3. Sign in**

Click **Connect**. A sign-in page opens. Enter your Aidan email and
password and click **Sign in and connect**, then enter the 6-digit code
we email you.

You're sent back to Claude and the connector shows as connected.

**4. Use it in a chat**

Start a new chat. Open the tools menu (the **+** or sliders icon under the
message box) and make sure **Aidan** is switched on. Then just ask:

> List my agents and tell me which ones had failed calls this week.

> [!TIP]
>
> On a Claude **Team** or **Enterprise** plan, an owner first adds the connector
> under **Organization settings → Connectors**. Each member then clicks
> **Connect** and signs in with their own Aidan account, so everyone sees only
> what their own login can reach.

## Add it to Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

```bash theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http aidan https://api.callaidan.com/mcp
```

Then start Claude Code, run `/mcp`, choose **aidan** and select **Authenticate**. Your browser opens the same sign-in page. Once you've signed in and entered the emailed code, return to the terminal and you're connected.

> [!NOTE]
>
> `--transport http` is MCP's Streamable HTTP transport, not unencrypted HTTP.
> The connection is HTTPS because the URL is. Add `--scope user` before the
> name to make it available in every project, not just the current one.

## What you can ask

> Create an outbound sales agent for Acme Roofing. Friendly, qualifies budget and timeline, books a 15-minute discovery call.

> Add every contact tagged "reactivation" that hasn't been called yet to the AI Reactivation Sequence workflow.

> Pull the last 30 calls for the Gamma Plumbing booking agent and tell me why it keeps losing on price.

> Text Jane Smith that her appointment moved to 3pm.

## Agency accounts

If you sign in with an agency account, Claude can reach every client under your agency. Tell it which one to work in:

> Switch me over to Delta Roofing.

Claude remembers the active client for your connection until you switch again. You can also name the client in a request: *"How many calls did Beta Dental take yesterday?"*

## Before anything risky

Deleting an agent, workflow or contacts, releasing a phone number, or starting a workflow for more than a handful of contacts doesn't happen straight away. Aidan sends back a summary of what will happen, and Claude asks you to confirm before it runs.

## Security

* **Your password stays with Aidan.** You type it on an Aidan page, never into Claude.
* **Two-step sign-in.** Connecting needs the 6-digit code we email you, just like signing in to the dashboard.
* **Claude holds a token, not your login.** It's replaced every hour and lasts up to 180 days before you'll be asked to sign in again.
* **Your access, nothing more.** Claude can do what your Aidan login can do, and no more.
* **Disconnect any time.** In Claude, go to **Settings → Connectors → Aidan → Disconnect**. Changing your Aidan password also disconnects every connected app.

## Troubleshooting

> **"That email and password do not match"**
>
> Check you're using your Aidan login. If you sign in with Google, set a
> password with **Forgot password** on the Aidan sign-in page first.

> **The sign-in code didn't arrive**
>
> Check your spam folder, then click **Send a new code** on the sign-in
> page. Codes expire after 10 minutes.

> **"Too many attempts"**
>
> Sign-in locks for 15 minutes after repeated wrong passwords. Wait, then
> try again.

> **"This sign-in link has expired"**
>
> The sign-in page is valid for an hour. Go back to Claude and click
> **Connect** again.

> **Claude doesn't use the Aidan tools**
>
> Make sure the connector is switched on for the chat in the tools menu, and
> try naming it: *"Using Aidan, list my workflows."*

> **It stopped working after a while**
>
> You changed your password, or the connection reached its 180-day limit. In
> **Settings → Connectors**, disconnect Aidan and connect it again.
